So you’ve just signed up your Blogspot.com site to Viral Ad Network and want to get started showing ads – what do you do next?
It can be daunting to get to grips with ads & embed codes for the first time, but do not despair – we’ve created a handy guide on how to place our ad units on your Blogger site!
Step 1:
To start, you will need your ad unit embed code. You can find this in the “Ad Units” section on your dashboard. When you click on the ad unit you will be presented with the embed code.
Next, you will need to log into Blogger and select the blog you wish to place our ads on (if you only have one blog you do not need to worry about this).
Step 2:
Select 
the “Layout” button on the left hand side.
Choose where you would like your ad unit to be on your site – the right or left sidebar, for example. The options for where you can place the unit will depend on which layout you have chosen for your site (if you want to change the layout then this can be done in the “Template” section).
You can really help to optimise your ad unit by thinking carefully about where you will place it – check out our tips on the best types of placements for some handy hints.
Generally, ad units perform better of they are placed above the fold, so they are visible as soon as someone visits your site, so for this example we will be placing an ad unit at the top of the left sidebar. To do this select “Add A Gadget” at the top of the sidebar.
Step 3: 
Scroll down & click on the the section titled “HTML/Javascript”.
The content box will be where your ad unit goes.
Copy the embed code from your Viral Ad Network dashboard and paste it into this box. Click on “Save”.
You can add a title to the unit if you like (in the title box), so that it’s clear to your site users that it is advertising content. 
Click on “Save Arrangement” and then you can preview your blog. Your ad unit should now be appearing in your site and will start working straight away!
Step 4:
If you’re finding that your ad unit doesn’t quite fit nicely in your sidebar then don’t worry! All you need to do is change the width of your sidebar. To do this just click on “Template” on the left hand side of your Blogger dashboard.
Click on “Customise” underneath the picture of your live blog, and then click on “Adjust Widths” in the menu that comes up.
Our Fun Units are 300px wide, so make sure your sidebar is at least this wide. You may also like to make it a little wider if you want a border of space around the ad unit. 
(Please don’t try and change the size of your ad unit, as this can cause problems and stop them from functioning correctly!)
When you are happy with the result click on “Apply To Blog”.
Once you get the hang of it, or if you’re familiar with using HTML, you might want to start experimenting with different placements for your ad unit. Each website is different so it’s good to test and see what works well for you.
Step 5:
Start enjoying advertising on your blog!
